Bohua Chinese School, founded in 1995, is a non-profit, non-political, 501(c)(3) educational institution that promotes traditional Chinese culture and community spirits. Meeting regularly on Sundays, the school offers various programs in Chinese language, arts, and culture to school-age children and adults from Boulder and its surrounding areas. Currently, more than 250 students are enrolled in various classes.
For years, Bohua has served as a community center to families who are, in one way or another, linked through Chinese Culture in the large Boulder area. Through its CTC (Chinese Taught in Chinese) program, BoHua has helped many children of Chinese descent maintaining their heritage through exposure to Chinese language and culture. BoHua’s curriculum has also been helping families who have adopted children from China and hope they can be connected to their roots. BoHua also has a growing language program, CTE (Chinese Taught in English), which is aimed at teaching English-speaking people who are interested in learning Chinese.
BoHua acknowledges the support of various local communities and institutions.
